"Sonoma County's Finest", the Sheriff's Deputies and staff of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office Road Dogs Bike Club, have teamed up with the Sonoma County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Service to host the first annual "Sonoma County's Finest" Bike Tour, a charity ride to benefit the Sonoma County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Service.

Taking place on Saturday, September 11, 2010, this event will honor our National remembrance of "9-11".

Chose from three ride distances: 100K (60 miles), 50K, or 25K, all taking place in the beautiful rolling wine country hills of Alexander Valley.  All rides start and end at Ursuline High School.  Rest Stops will be at the Robert Young Winery and at the Russian River's Wohler Bridge.

There will be a huge after-ride pasta feast catered by the Pasta King.

Ride registrants will receive a complimentary event backpack tote bag (here) containing small, high intensity front and rear silicone gel LED bicycle lights, a wine tasting coupon for Robert Young Winery, and other items.

After-ride showers will be available, so you bring a change of clothes if you like.  But either way, stick around afterwards for all the fun.  We'll have live music and raffles.  We'll also have very entertaining and informative law enforcement demonstrations by local law enforcement agencies: the Sonoma County Sheriff's Helicopter "Henry-1", the Sonoma County Sheriff's Bomb squad, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office SWAT TEAM and armored vehicle, plus exciting police K-9 demonstrations as well.  It will be a fun afternoon, so think about buying meal tickets for your family to meet you there after your ride so they can join in on the fun!

The Sonoma County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Service works alongside local law enforcement to help victims and survivors of tragedy.  They respond with local law enforcement to scenes of crisis where they provide care to those who need it.

To learn more about the chaplaincy, please visit their website at www.sonomalawchaplains.org  where you can watch their new three minute video "Being There".

This event is the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy's big fundraiser for the year.  Please come out, join the fun, and support your local Law Enforcement Chaplaincy!
